Cooldown

Cooldown is a mix of four buffered acids which inhibit the growth of fungi, bacteria and yeasts. The acids are buffered so they do not attack the paintwork on the machines. Cooldown can be applied in the mixer wagon (1 litre per tonne feed) to prevent heating at the feed fence and stimulate feed intake. It can be used as a heating inhibitor in dry clamps or as a top layer treatment, and is also suitable for use in a backpack sprayer to treat the silage face.

Cooldown – an excellent heating inhibitor

Cooldown is an excellent heating inhibitor. The mixture of acids is designed to significantly reduce the growth of moulds, yeasts and bacteria.

Cooldown works well in wet and dry clamps. However, it is more expensive per tonne than a silage additive. There is no point in combining them as Cooldown also reduces the effectiveness of the silage additive. It can also be used as a top layer treatment.
